The Storm Trooper

What started as a stock 2013 Vrod muscle we turned into an absolute weapon. We completely tore this bike apart and rebuilt it using top quality products and our own custom turbo kit setup that we have been refining over the past few years. We started with custom bodywork from DGD custom in Sydney and added a 26” front wheel and raked triple trees, also from DGD. We fitted all custom parts including drag bars, a Billet headlight, a wrap around front fender, Legend suspension airbags and a 260 Metzeler on the rear and finished it off with a custom paint job to complete the look.
There were a few tricks we used to achieve the exact look we were chasing with the paint such as painting the wheels white first and back masking to make the spokes pop, along with some gunmetal grey inlays in the airbox and fender. We chose a pearl white for the tins and a straight gloss for the hand controls while the front end was painted as one complete unit to ensure a super clean finish and left no room for any marks on assembly. We chose two different finishes in the white to create a subtle contrast between them that just gives the bike a little something extra. As always we look to the guys at Lee Brothers for all of our upholstery needs and they created a custom diamond stitched seat in black leather with white stitching to add to the colour scheme.
The main challenge on the build was the one off twin turbo kit. We started with 2 Garrett turbos and then fabricated everything from the plenum chamber to the header pipes to complete the setup. On a stock engine with low boost it produced 156hp which we, along with our tuner over at Pro Cycle Dyno, were incredibly happy with. While the twin turbo feature was more for the aesthetics, and because we’re always pushing the limits with what we can achieve, one turbo would have been just too easy and the end result was still exceptional. While our single turbo kits are rated to well over 200hp this thing was still a wheel standing weapon at 156hp. One of our proudest creations to date.
